Today, I studied more for my moral reasoning class. Thank goodness for lecture videos online, where I can review course material. In the evening, I had a quick dinner with some friends, and then I went to a review session for my moral reasoning class. It was a good chance to discuss material, except for one student who wouldn't stop asking questions that should have been asked on his own time. Alas.

Tonight, I went to the Institute of Politics to watch with a large group this year's State of the Union Address. While the speech is supposed to inspire hope and optimism for the future, I left feeling fearful and dreading what is left of the current administration and the extreme-right agenda it seeks to pursue. It was heartening to hear applause after mention of the Patriot Act expiring soon, hissing after a proposal for abstinence programs, and outright booing after his mention of a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages.

After watching the Democratic Response, I went back to my room and did some more studying. I then went to bed early because I was tired.
